An Introduction to me:
You may not know this but I have the best job in the world. Some say the most important. I get to be a part of your child’s earliest stages of development. In my mind there is no greater honor.
Shortly after completing a Diploma in Youth Justice I began working as a counsellor for at-risk youth with mental health and/or addictions in 2001. Parallel to this I have been supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and continue to this day. I later decided to finish a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Youth Care with a Specialization in Child Protection.
In 2015 I enrolled my daughter in Le Soleil Montessori where she went through positive dramatic changes quickly. This inspired me to finish my education with a Early Childhood Educator designation and Montessori Teacher diploma. I went back to school. Again. During this time, I was also coaching my daughter’s soccer team and had been since she was 5 years old. I decided it was time to open my own facility. One with a strong outdoor component. Children should be free to roam and make discoveries. They need to explore with their own scientific mind and also develop physically through running, jumping, splashing, digging and playing sports.
With my daughter’s consent of course, I redesigned the interior of our home to be a kids world play space and workspace all rolled up in one. Living close to forest and parks, while also having large outdoor play space our home was the perfect spot.
Currently, I coach for Cliff Avenue FC in Burnaby and I also support individuals with disabilities. I’m a member of The Early Childhood Educators of BC and The Canadian Child Care Federation
